Child at Heart FML

Today, my friends and I spent hours on the Disney website playing in Pixie Hollow. We made our own fairies and flew around completing tasks for TinkerBell and her fairy friends. We're in college, and this is how we spent our Saturday night. FML

Hahaha! It's sad, but trufax I would not have been surprised to have been caught doing the same. I love this website.

What to Do?

I haven't posted in this in almost a year, and I haven't posted in this regularly for at least a couple years. I still want to keep this blog, but I don't know what I could write in it that differentiates it from my livejournal. I was kind of sad to discover a couple weeks ago that some of my pages on my website are no longer available. First of all because I couldn't remember the username or password to those pages, and I think it just expired from lack of use. Sadness. I wanted to look back on those pictures! Which reminds me, I hope I can still go into my photobucket account...

In any case, if anyone has ideas for what I can put in this blog, please let me know! I'm pretty set on reflecting on events of my life in the lj, so perhaps there is something less personal I can put in here that I don't mind being more public about.

Change

Wow, I haven't posted here in almost a year. I missed a celebratory anniversary post in March. I think I recognized it in my lj though. I signed in today to discover that this now has to be linked with a gmail account. Another sign that google is taking over the world. So what has changed since my last post? I think my last entry was a survey which doesn't say much. Right now I'm interning at Disney for the second time. I'm extending into the fall. I'm not dating anyone at the moment, nor have I been actively looking either. Besides photopass guy, there hasn't been anything very interesting guy-related. I have seven more classes left for my undergrad and I'm itching to get that degree. 4 classes, 1 internship, and 1 e-board position in the fall can't be that hard to handle. I saw a bunch of my friends graduate in the spring and I'd like to dive into those waters. Although when imagining myself graduating with them last semester, I really didn't think I was ready. All in good time. I am apparently graduating with so many people I know in the spring, that I won't be able to contain myself. I'm foreseeing a lot of celebrating in the future.

Bah, but that's the future. Here is now. It's the first day of July. HP5 the movie comes out in 10 days, the final book comes out in 20. Stacy's birthday is this month and so is seeing Blue Man Group. I still try to go to church every Sunday morning, though sometimes I find myself missing them because of something SWE-related or birthday plans. Darn Lexie for always having to work on Saturdays. Oh yeah, so my friend dynamic has changed a lot since August. People I've only known from a SWE conference became really close. I guess it's good that I got closer to younger folks so that I could have study buddies and grad buddies. It's weird to think that I'm one of the older ones of the group in school now. I'm that SWE vet that the new people might be intimidated by, I'm that kid doing the 5 year plan and is not ashamed, I'm the one who's been able to legally drink for more than a year. Weeeiiirrrd. But I welcome the change. I'm looking forward to it.

DC Trip

I wish I had more to post about in this blog. I enjoy having it, but I just haven't really had anything to post in it lately. It's a bummer that I had to take out the comment box in the side bar. Some good memories over the years from that box...

My family and I are leaving to Washington D.C. on the 8th of August. We'll be back on the 15th. I'm actually really excited. I've totally been doing the tourist thing today and looking at stuff to do there and printing out maps. I feel like compiling everything in a folder and bringing it with us. How nerdy is that?! This is the first time we've been away on vacation for so many days in a long time. New Orleans and Tennessee were only about a 5 day stay. Hmm I wonder when the last time was that we stayed somewhere so long? Well I guess this is like a 5 day stay too because we'll be travelling on 5 of the 7 days. It's been a few years since we travelled on a plane, but I guess haven't missed it because I've been able to travel on them for SWE conferences. Ah conference, my unofficial vacation get away during school. :p Anyway, there's a lot to do in D.C., I hope we get to all of the best parts! :)

Turtle Violence

On my way back from lunch outside of Subway, I looked down into the water to see if any turtles were swimming around. From a distance, I saw some movement going on. Upon closer observation, it was indeed a turtle! Yay! I watched it swim close to the plants under the bridge. A couple seconds later, I saw another one following right behind it and moving a little more cautiously. Maybe they were playing hide and seek? When it came close to the bridge, the biggest one came up to it. Ooo two turtles playing! Or so I thought. The large turtle BIT the smaller one's neck and the smaller one dashed away! How violent and unecessary. I'm not so much a fan of the bigger one now.
